Amigo Resources secures dual mining licences in Tanzania

Amigo Resources granted two processing licences as it expands operations in Tanzania

Amigo Resources PLC, a London-listed mining development company, has reached a major milestone in its African operations with the granting of two critical mining licences in Tanzania. The Mining Commission of the United Republic of Tanzania has officially awarded the firm Processing Licences (PCLs), marking a pivotal step in Amigo’s strategy to establish a robust, integrated processing framework for its Kabete and Mojimoto projects.

The licences provide Amigo with the regulatory foundation to advance modular processing infrastructure across multiple project areas. This framework will support exploration, metallurgical evaluation, ore aggregation, and the integration of small-scale mining operations. By deploying innovative processing techniques, Amigo aims to optimise resource extraction and maximise the benefits of Tanzania’s rich mineral reserves.

“The grant of these Processing Licences represents an important operational milestone for the Company and supports our strategy of establishing scalable mineral processing infrastructure within Tanzania,” said Anil Kumar Reddy, Chief Executive Officer – Mining Operations Africa. He highlighted Kabete’s potential for specialised recovery methodologies targeting sulphide-associated and refractory gold systems, while Mojimoto strengthens Amigo’s integrated exploration and processing strategy in the Lake Victoria Goldfield region.

Reddy added that Mojimoto’s combined potential for gold, nickel, chromium, and early-stage precious metal indicators justifies detailed exploration and assessment.

Amigo has already begun developing strategic processing hubs, positioning itself as a specialist in complex mineral systems such as sulphide-associated, refractory, and ultra-fine gold mineralisation.

“These Processing Licences advance Amigo’s strategy of integrating modular processing, AI-assisted exploration, and advanced metallurgical evaluation into a differentiated platform for both exploration and specialised beneficiation of complex mineral systems,” said Craig Ransley, Chairman of Amigo Resources PLC. He added that while conventional free-milling gold will play a significant role at Kabete and Mojimoto, the company is also focused on enhancing recovery methods for ultra-fine and refractory-associated gold fractions, alongside assessing nickel, chromium, and early-stage PGM indicators at Mojimoto.

This achievement strengthens Amigo Resources’ foothold in Tanzania’s mining sector and paves the way for innovative processing techniques that could deliver substantial economic benefits to the broader region.
