Zululand Energy Terminal launches EOI for EPC contractors in energy expansion drive
Phased procurement process to identify qualified partners, with a strong focus on localisation and economic development goals
Zululand Energy Terminal has officially launched the Expression of Interest (EOI) process for Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractors as part of its broader energy infrastructure expansion programme.
According to the company, the procurement process will follow a structured, phased approach beginning with the EOI stage, followed by a Request for Information (RFI) issued to shortlisted contractors, and concluding with a Request for Quotation (RFQ).
“This structured process is designed to assess capability, refine the contracting framework, and support the appointment of preferred partners for project execution,” the company said.
Zululand Energy Terminal added that EPC execution will be aligned with its project-specific localisation and economic development objectives. Selected contractors will be required to support local supplier participation, skills development, and the use of local labour.
“Qualifying parties will be included in the project’s vendor database and may be shortlisted for subsequent phases as potential preferred contractors or subcontractors,” the company said.
The initiative forms part of Zululand Energy Terminal’s strategy to strengthen project delivery capacity while promoting inclusive participation in the energy value chain.
