Hamak Gold identifies targets at Ziatoyah in Liberia

Hamak Gold has received the report and interpretation of a geophysical Induced Polarisation (IP) survey conducted over the Ziatoyah gold discovery on the company’s Nimba license in northern Liberia.

The survey was conducted by GeoFocus, a South African geophysical consultancy group and covered a total of 21 line kilometers, with line spacings of 100 meters and 200 meters. The survey lines were strategically chosen to cover the Ziatoyah gold discovery area, including the significant drill intersection of 20 meters at 7 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and the northern part of the 3 km by 1 km gold in soil anomaly.

Survey data

An initial IP Orientation/Pilot survey block was conducted directly over the Ziatoyah discovery outcrop and Drill Holes 1 and 2 to establish optimal survey parameters for the wider discovery area and northern soil anomaly. The data quality generated from the survey was reported to be very good, particularly on the 50-meter dipole-dipole transmitter spacing, which provided data to depths of 100 meters below the surface.

The processing and interpretation of the survey data identified several strong IP chargeability and resistivity anomalies that correlate with the Ziatoyah gold discovery and the gold in soil anomalies in the northern area. The resistivity anomaly at Ziatoyah indicates alteration associated with sulphide mineralization and shows a strong correlation between gold in soil anomalies and high resistivity readings.

The Ziatoyah discovery, based on rock chip sampling and limited initial drilling, has shown promising results for Hamak Gold, particularly Drill Hole 1, which intersected 20 meters at 7 g/t gold. The geophysical survey has identified a strong chargeability anomaly trending north and northwest from the Ziatoyah outcrop. This anomaly will be drill tested to determine if it represents an extension of the high-grade gold mineralization discovered at Ziatoyah.

Additionally, the survey has generated several new high priority drill targets in the northern part of the survey area. These targets correspond to both chargeability and resistivity anomalies that coincide with the gold in soil anomalies. Hamak Gold plans to design a drilling program to test these anomalies in the next phase of exploration.
