Drilling campaign results released for Ni and PGE project
Power Metal Resources has announced the results of its 2022/2023 drilling campaign at the Molopo Farms Complex Project in southwestern Botswana. The project is targeting a large-scale discovery of nickel and platinum group elements.
The CEO, Sean Wade, has commented that the discovery of major nickel sulphide and PGE deposits is highly challenging, but the company has been able to overcome these challenges and confirm the postulated geological model and the presence of nickel sulphides and PGEs. Some of the main challenges are to find demonstrable evidence of the right geological environment and targeted mineralisation within what is a very large area of sand covered ground – as is the case at Molopo Farms with a 1,478.6 km2 project footprint.
Large-scale exploration programme
“I am very pleased to present this set of drill results, which I know have been long awaited. We have provided a comprehensive analysis of the results achieved as well as a detailed exploration history of the Molopo Farms Complex and of our project area. The major challenges have been overcome and we have been able to confirm the postulated geological model and confirm the presence of nickel sulphides and PGEs. It is now time to move to the next stage where the knowledge and data we have assembled can be deployed in continuing ground exploration,” said CEO, Sean Wade.
The company is now looking to deploy the knowledge and data it has assembled in continuing ground exploration and is in conversations with potential project partners to set a course for a large-scale exploration programme that could prove the potential for a magmatic sulphide deposit or deposits.
