BeMetals begins 2023 copper exploration at Pangeni Project in Zambia
BeMetals has commenced exploration program at the Pangeni Copper Project in the Zambian Copperbelt. The core drilling conducted during the previous program has been used to generate new and refined targets for testing in the current year’s exploration program.
2023 program
The 2023 program, which is planned to cost USD 2 million, will be funded proportionally by BeMetals Corp. and the Japan Organization for Metals and Energy Security (JOGMEC). The exploration program for 2023 is set to begin with 5,000 meters of shallow aircore drilling, followed by 2,000 meters of core drilling as a follow-up. The updated geological interpretation of the project has identified new and refined targets for copper discovery, exhibiting similar geological settings to world-class deposits and mines in the Zambian Copperbelt.
Furthermore, the program will also test the northeastern extension of a major structural feature that extends across the central area of the project at the new L-target. The previous drilling results at Pangeni, despite the thin but extensive sand cover, along with its overall geological setting within the prolific Zambian Copperbelt, continue to demonstrate the potential for a significant copper discovery at this project.
