Ghana GoldBod suspends Dominic Bonsu Ventures’ gold trading licence
The suspension follows alleged breaches of licence conditions and trading directives, with a High Court bench warrant issued for the proprietor’s arrest
The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has suspended the gold trading licence of Dominic Bonsu Ventures with immediate effect following breaches of its licence terms and conditions and trading directives.
According to GoldBod, the breaches contravene the Ghana Gold Board Act, 2025 (Act 1140).
The board said it is also seeking the proprietor of Dominic Bonsu Ventures in connection with ongoing enforcement proceedings.
“Pursuant to an application by the GoldBod, the High Court, Accra, has issued a Bench Warrant for the arrest of the proprietor to facilitate the enforcement process and related criminal proceedings,” GoldBod said.
The board added that it is working with the relevant law enforcement agencies to execute the warrant.
As a result of the suspension, Dominic Bonsu Ventures is prohibited from purchasing, selling, aggregating, transporting or engaging in any other transactions involving gold with immediate effect.
GoldBod has also directed all licensed buyers, aggregators, self-financing aggregators and miners to immediately cease all trading, commercial dealings and other business engagements with Dominic Bonsu Ventures relating to gold transactions until further notice.
“Any person or entity found facilitating, assisting, or engaging in gold transactions with Dominic Bonsu Ventures during the period of suspension shall be liable to the appropriate enforcement and regulatory measures under the Ghana Gold Board Act, 2025 (Act 1140),” the board said.
GoldBod said it remains committed to enforcing the laws, licence conditions and trading directives governing Ghana’s gold trading sector.
It added that it would continue taking enforcement action against individuals and entities that undermine the integrity, transparency and orderly operation of the industry.
