Bolt and Engineering Distributors Group gears up for NAMPO 2026
Unity is strength: B.E.D. reinforces NAMPO presence through teamwork, innovation and national reach
Bolt and Engineering Distributors Group (B.E.D.) is once again set to make a strong impact at NAMPO Harvest Day 2026, continuing a tradition of more than three decades at South Africa’s premier agricultural exhibition.
A Legacy of Consistency and Collaboration
Since its first modest tent display over 30 years ago, B.E.D.’s presence has grown into a multi-area exhibition featuring indoor and outdoor stands, plus a demonstration zone. The company’s NAMPO committee, led by Ian Lloyd, Carlien Bruce-Smith, Antonie van Zijl, and André Esterhuizen, ensures seamless coordination across branches in Klerksdorp, Welkom, Rustenburg, and Bethlehem. Their teamwork reflects B.E.D.’s national footprint and commitment to farmers.
Esterhuizen emphasises the collaborative spirit: “We work as a B.E.D. team. Everyone knows their role, and because we’ve worked together for years, there’s strong camaraderie.”
Evolving with Modern Agriculture
The agricultural sector has transformed dramatically, with increased mechanisation, advanced technology, and higher efficiency demands. Lloyd notes that farmers expect more sophisticated solutions, while Van Zijl highlights B.E.D.’s expansion beyond fasteners to include bearings, welding, power tools, and maintenance products. Bruce-Smith adds that today’s farmers run businesses, requiring reliability, convenience, and a wide product range.

NAMPO as a Platform for Engagement
NAMPO remains a vital space for customer interaction, offering face-to-face discussions, product demonstrations, and valuable feedback. With nearly 100,000 visitors annually, the exhibition showcases the latest agricultural innovations. Esterhuizen stresses its importance: “If farmers don’t attend NAMPO, they miss out on new developments that boost productivity.”
National Footprint Supporting Year-Round Service
Beyond NAMPO, B.E.D. supports customers nationwide through its branch network and over 45 external sales representatives. Van Zijl explains: “NAMPO is not just about four days, it builds relationships that last all year.” Bruce-Smith adds that the committee connects customers to their nearest branch, ensuring consistent service across South Africa.
What to Expect at NAMPO 2026
Visitors can look forward to an expanded product range, live demonstrations, and expert advice from B.E.D.’s specialists in welding, PPE, power tools, and lubrication solutions. The outdoor demo area will showcase equipment in action, giving farmers practical insights into performance.
A Practical Partner for Farmers
Looking ahead, B.E.D. remains dedicated to being a solutions partner, helping farmers achieve productivity, reliability, and efficiency. As Bruce-Smith concludes: “Our role is to stay close to the customer, keeping things easy, convenient, and practical. It’s our business to know your business.”
