Askari Metals acquires Eyasi Uranium Project in Tanzania

Askari Metals has gained full acquisition of the Eyasi Uranium Project. The 292 km² project, located 320 km northwest of Dodoma, was identified as a promising site for surface uranium deposits based on extensive geological and geophysical data. It lies within the Precambrian Eastern Granulite Complex, linked to the East African Rift system, and exhibits geological features suggesting the presence of uranium-bearing fluvial systems.
The deal was made through its subsidiary, Infinum Uranium. It complements the company’s recent purchase of the Matemanga Uranium Project in southern Tanzania. Managing Director Gino D’Anna highlighted the project’s importance in expanding Askari’s uranium portfolio in Tanzania, underscoring the Tanzanian government’s commitment to growing the mining sector’s contribution to GDP from 6.7% to 10% by 2025 under President Samia Suluhu’s leadership.
Low-cost exploration programs
Askari Metals plans a series of low-cost exploration programs to define mineralization, including reconnaissance sampling, remote sensing via satellite imagery, radiometric surveys, and stream sediment sampling.
“We are well positioned for execution and we look forward to getting boots on the ground at Eyasi and sampling these anomalous systems. The Matemanga Uranium Project is currently still in the application phase and is expected to progress to full grant stage in the short term,” said Gino D’Anna.
