Zeus Resources secures access to Newmont’s Moroccan exploration database

Zeus Resources has signed a license agreement with a subsidiary of Newmont to obtain its exploration database and Morocco regional framework study, a move aimed at accelerating the company’s exploration activities.
The agreement gives Zeus immediate access to years of systematic regional work undertaken by Newmont across the Anti-Atlas and Central Meseta regions, areas known internationally for their gold, base metal, and critical mineral potential.
Zeus’ flagship Casablanca Antimony Project in central Morocco spans six granted licenses covering 79km². The project hosts several historical and artisanal workings, with rock chip samples returning antimony grades of up to 46.52%.
Newmont database
The Newmont database includes extensive geochemical and sampling coverage, digital geology and structural interpretations, mineral occurrence records, and technical reports. Zeus said this compilation offers one of the most detailed studies of the Anti-Atlas metallogenic belt to date, providing a strong platform for regional targeting and new project generation.
Under the terms of the five-year non-exclusive deal, Newmont will receive a 1% net smelter return royalty on any property Zeus acquires, directly or indirectly, within the specified regions. Executive Director Hugh Pilgrim said the agreement positions Zeus to quickly identify and prioritise areas with the highest discovery potential.
According to Austrade, mining contributes up to 10% of Morocco’s GDP and accounts for about 30% of exports. While phosphate dominates the sector Morocco controls roughly 70% of global reserves—the country also hosts significant cobalt, tin, and other mineral deposits. Zeus Resources is focused on advancing critical mineral projects in underexplored jurisdictions, targeting assets that can deliver rapid value growth.
