Sun Africa, Egypt hold talks on energy, mining cooperation

The government of Egypt represented by Karim Badawi, Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, held talks with Adam Cortese, CEO of Sun Africa, and his accompanying delegation on matters energy and mining.
The discussions focused on potential collaboration across several key areas, including oil and natural gas, renewable energy, carbon reduction, and mining activities. Both parties explored opportunities for joint projects in renewable and smart energy solutions, emphasizing solar power, green energy, and carbon capture and storage (CCS).
Tech diversity
The meeting also underscored the importance of technology exchange and the development of long-term strategic partnerships to facilitate knowledge transfer and promote sustainable investment in the energy sector.
Cortese praised Egypt’s position as a strategic energy hub in Africa and highlighted the robust support Sun Africa receives from the U.S. government for global infrastructure and investment initiatives. He also expressed interest in leveraging the strong U.S.-Egypt relations and Sun Africa’s historic partnership with ENPPI and PETROJET. Furthermore, he emphasized the company’s commitment to transferring Egypt’s energy expertise to other African nations, reinforcing Egypt’s role as a regional energy leader.
