Shanta Gold makes discovery in Western Kenya

Two more gold fields have been unearthed in Western Kenya. Shanta Gold Limited’s Chief executive Eric Zurrin said the firm fields discovery have a total of seven high-priority targets.

According to Mr. Zurrin the fields brings to five, the number of gold fields with high inferred gold deposits within the popular Lihranda corridor that stretches from Kakamega, Vihiga, Busia and parts of Siaya.

The gold fields were discovered in Kimingini located within the Lihranda camp, Dhene and Miruka located within the Ramula camp. They add to the traditional Isulu and Bushiangala gold fields. A drilling program will be done to the areas to establish a mine. Results of the drilling campaign at Isulu and Bushiangala returned 378,000 oz grading of gold that was converted to Indicated Resources in late March this year.

Resource update

“The West Kenya project continues to produce exciting results and the targets reaffirm the project’s potential to be a multimillion-ounce gold district comparable with other prolific greenstone belts in the world. More expansion drilling is planned for the Ramula region, as are metallurgical testing, infill drilling for conversion to mineable resources and a scoping study.

We expect to provide a resource update before the year-end. With these announcements in the coming months, shareholders can expect to see a significant conversion of the inferred resources to indicated ounces, further de-risking the mineral resource estimate and demonstrating the intrinsic value of the West Kenya Project. We remain extremely excited about the potential of the west Kenya Project, with its exceptionally high-grade resource marking it out from other gold global exploration projects,” said CEO Eric Zurrin.
