Resource Mining starts nickel exploration at Liparamba Project in Tanzania

Resource Mining Corporation has commenced nickel exploration at two targets on Liparamba Project in Tanzania. The Liparamba targets, proposed RC drill holes and AMT Survey lines are said to have large coincidental geophysical and geochemical signatures, previously identified by BHP (ASX:BHP) Ltd and Albidon Ltd.
Liparamba Project
Situated along 3-4 kilometres of a known mafic-ultramafic contact zone, the area according to mineralogical studies have confirmed the presence of nickel sulphide mineralisation, particularly along the southwestern contact.
RMI’s early site investigations confirmed the presence of this mafic geology, having identified historical trenching by previous explorers and outcropping mafic rocks. The firm has begun with a large, 4.4-square-kilometre Audio-frequency Magnetotellurics (AMT) geophysical survey to confirm known targets, expected to be completed by mid-April. From there the company plans to complete an initial 12-hole, 2,160-metre reverse circulation (RC) drilling campaign to test at least the two known targets, expected to begin in early May.
“Very exciting opportunity. We are very excited to commence exploration at Liparamba. This presents a very exciting opportunity as previous work carried out by BHP has indicated high quality and significant walk-up, drill-ready targets. We are confident of success and this exploration should assist with the company’s strategy of locating significant nickel resources within our Tanzanian project portfolio,” Resource Mining Corporation CEO Andrew Nesbitt said.
