Pelangio Exploration announces completion of drilling programme at Manfo
Pelangio Exploration has successfully completed a 1,039.5 meter diamond drilling (DD) program at the Pokukrom East and West deposits on its Manfo project.
This project is situated 15 km south-southeast of Newmont’s Ahafo Mine and 40 km north of Asante Gold’s Bibiani Mine. According to Ingrid Hibbard, the President and CEO of Pelangio Exploration, the drilling results from the southern ends of both Pokukrom East and West have shown positive mineralization extensions. This outcome justifies further exploration and follow-up drilling to potentially increase the mineral resource at those locations.
Manfo project
The recent diamond drilling program at the Manfo project is part of a larger planned effort that aims to conduct 3,700 meters of diamond drilling. The main objective of this comprehensive program is to explore and test for extensions to the known mineralization at Pokukrom and also explore other promising targets in the vicinity.
During the course of the program, two targets were eliminated from the list due to the drilling results. These targets include a soil plus auger anomaly on the northwestern flank of Pokukrom East and the northerly extension of Pokukrom West at shallow levels. However, despite these exclusions, several other targets remain untested at Pokukrom, and they will be prioritized for drilling in future programs.
Additionally, Pelangio Exploration plans to conduct a 6,750-meter exploration aircore drilling program. This program will focus on evaluating various compelling targets along the 9 km of favorable geological structure on the Manfo property. The goal is to make additional mineral discoveries, including follow-up exploration at several prospects that have only undergone limited drill testing up to this point.
The overall strategy and efforts of Pelangio Exploration are aimed at expanding the understanding of the mineral potential of the Manfo project and potentially increasing its mineral resources through systematic exploration and drilling activities.
