Nigeria Mining Week slated for November

Nigeria is set to hold its ninth edition of Nigeria Mining Week conference and expo. The event is being organized by the Miners Association of Nigeria (MAN) in collaboration with PwC Nigeria and Vuka Group, with the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development as the host.

The expo will take place from November 18 to 20, 2024, at the Abuja Continental Hotel. Initially planned to be held at the Abuja International Conference Center, the venue was changed due to unexpected renovations, prompting a move to the Abuja Continental Hotel, which offers modern conference facilities.

Shaping mining landscape

Key figures like Samukelo Madlabane, Event Director at Vuka Group, expressed confidence in the new venue, emphasizing its world-class amenities and modern fixtures. Dele Ayanleke, President of MAN, highlighted the importance of the event in building a “real Nigerian mining family” and noted the continuous growth and reputation of the conference. Cyril Azobu, Partner & Mining Leader at PwC Nigeria, reinforced the significance of Nigeria Mining Week as a pivotal event in shaping the country’s mining landscape.

The theme for this year’s conference is “From the inside out: Building the mining sector to be the cornerstone of Nigeria’s economy. The conference will cover critical sessions including; investment perspectives on transforming Nigeria’s mining sector, strengthening the iron and steel industry and exploring cooperation with Japan, policy reforms for socio-economic impact, optimizing Nigeria’s mineral assets for growth, strategies for financing Nigeria’s mining industry, supporting the growth of junior mining companies, CEO Roundtable and Women in Mining sessions.
