Mixtec: Celebrating 40 Years of Innovation and Excellence
Mixtec – for mixing technology, proudly celebrates its 40th anniversary. Founded in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1984, Mixtec has become a world-renowned name in fluid mixing technology.
Mixtec’s journey began when Timothy Clamp and Bill Baguley, Engineers and designers of industrial mixers, joined forces with a shared vision of excellence. From the onset Mixtec’s mission was to contribute to the efficiency of their customers plants by providing quality, well-engineered equipment. Using their own designs, the company soon built a reputation for designing and manufacturing superior equipment.
It wasn’t long before company started expanding their global footprint and by 1988 Mixtec saw their first international branch opening in England. In 1997, Mixtec had ventured into the Asia-Pacific region, setting up operations in Malaysia. Over the next couple of years company’s trajectory continued to grow with branches in Australia, New Zealand, North America, South America, and Europe.
Milestone
Reflecting on their journey, Timothy Clamp remarks, “Starting out, we knew we would have our work cut out for us, competing against those already known and established in the industry. We knew we had to be different, flexible and focused. Looking back over 40 years, it’s a proud realization that we have built a thriving enterprise.”
When asked what he is most proud of looking back over these four decades, Timothy Clamp said, “I am proud that we built a company with an extremely good reputation. A profitable company that employs people in secure positions, a place where they can grow their careers– we take that very seriously.”
Many things have changed since the 1980s. Technological advances have led to unprecedented progress in various mixing applications for customers. With 40 years of experience, and tens of thousands of units running in diverse applications globally, Mixtec can apply these new technologies alongside an extensive data repository from previous applications, ensuring precise and scientifically driven solutions to meet very specific customer needs.
Looking ahead, Timothy Clamp expressed his confidence in the next generation of company leaders, believing they will take Mixtec from strength to strength. From the Australian branch in Perth, Jonathan Clamp emphasized this commitment to growing and expanding
Mixtec’s capabilities. “My focus is on developing new products and services while staying up-to-date with the latest global customer requirements,” he said. Reflecting on the company’s history, he reiterated a core principle: unwavering customer satisfaction. “We are committed to ensuring that Mixtec is always ready to assist and support our clients with any new process or application requiring one of our products or services, while steadfastly upholding our founding principle of good old-fashioned customer service”.
