High-grade Manganese confirmed in Kilifi, Kenya

High-grade Manganese have been confirmed confirmed in Kilifi County Kenya. Marula Mining announced the promising assay results from channel samples of manganese ore in licensed areas for its Kilifi Manganese Processing Plant.

The results reveal a high-grade manganese zone, up to 1.0 meter thick, with assay values ranging from 44.13% to 71.01% manganese. This high-grade ore is located approximately 5 meters below lower-grade deposits in the Ganze Region, a key area of supply for the Kilifi Plant.

High-grade product

The Kilifi Plant is set to receive a monthly supply of 10,000 tonnes of manganese ore from this region, as per the Manganese Ore Supply Agreement with Kitmin Holdings Limited. The high-grade ore will be processed at the Kilifi Plant, either as a dedicated high-grade product or blended with lower-grade ore to create a higher-value final product.

Jason Brewer, CEO of Marula Mining PLC, expressed optimism about the results, highlighting their potential to significantly impact the project’s economics and the broader potential within Kilifi County. With processing operations scheduled to begin in September 2024, Marula Mining is also working on finalizing additional supply agreements, potential acquisitions, and logistics and sales agreements to optimize the Kilifi Plant’s operations. Brewer emphasized that further updates to shareholders will be provided as these activities progress.
