Giyani Metals Corp., has been granted the Environmental Authorisation for the K.Hill battery-grade manganese project in Botswana. This marks a marks a crucial step forward for Giyani Metals Corp. in advancing the K.Hill project, demonstrating environmental responsibility, regulatory compliance, and progress toward securing the necessary approvals for mining operations in Botswana.

Environmental Authorisation
The EIA process culminated in the submission of a comprehensive Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to the Botswana Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA) in March 2023. Following detailed review and public consultation, the DEA approved the EIA and issued the EA, which has a validity period of 25 years, subject to renewal thereafter.
The receipt of the EA, has also paved way for Giyani to finalize the Mining Licence application for the K.Hill project. The Mining Licence application which was submitted to the Department of Mines in late December 2023, is deemed sufficient to accommodate the project’s requirements over an extended 57-year life of operations, as defined in the Preliminary Economic Assessment prepared in July 2023.
Danny Keating, President and CEO of Giyani Metals Corp., acknowledges the significance of achieving environmental approvals in a short period and commends the team’s diligence. The CEO cited that the commitment to international standards is presented as a reflection of the company’s values, ensuring alignment with global best practices and potential requirements for financing.
