Fortuna Mining Corp issues report on exploration work at Séguéla Mine

Fortuna Mining Corp. has reported encouraging progress from its exploration work at the Séguéla Mine in Côte d’Ivoire, focusing on the Kingfisher and Sunbird deposits. At Kingfisher, drilling efforts have advanced to improving resource confidence along a one-kilometer strike length within the existing resource pit.
A key highlight from the recent drilling includes an intersection of 7.2 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold over a true width of 31.5 meters in drill hole SGRC2278. So far, 100 drill holes covering 10,978 meters have been completed as part of a larger 28,000-meter program aimed at refining geological understanding and expanding the resource base.
Mineralization
Mineralization at Kingfisher remains open at depth and along strike, with the deepest drilling reaching approximately 250 meters below surface. The program has successfully extended mineralization by approximately 700 meters to the south and 600 meters below surface beyond the current underground inferred resource limits. Fortuna expects to upgrade the Kingfisher resources into Séguéla Mine’s mineral reserves by 2025 following the successful completion of the infill program.
Meanwhile, at the Sunbird deposit, deep exploration drilling has delivered promising results, particularly at the southern extent of the deposit. The most significant recent result includes an interval of 4.3 g/t of gold over 23.1 meters from 733 meters in drill hole SGRD2215 — representing the deepest intercept at Séguéla so far. The mineralization at Sunbird remains open at depth and down plunge, with further step-out drilling planned in the second quarter of 2025 to refine the mineralized zone’s geometry and structural controls. Fortuna’s exploration strategy at Sunbird aims to enhance the understanding of the deposit’s full potential and increase overall resource confidence.
Looking ahead, Fortuna plans to continue drilling at both deposits to improve resource classification and uncover additional mineralization. The company remains focused on integrating the updated resource data into the Séguéla Mine’s broader development plan. The progress at Kingfisher and Sunbird highlights the potential to expand the mine’s lifespan and improve production capacity.
