Fortuna holds inauguration ceremony for Séguéla Mine in Côte d’Ivoire

Fortuna Silver Mines Inc. held an inauguration ceremony for its Séguéla Mine in Côte d’Ivoire. This announcement indicates the company’s commitment to expanding its mining operations globally and contributing to the economic development of the regions in which it operates while emphasizing sustainability and responsible mining practices.

The event was attended by various dignitaries, including government officials, Canadian embassy representatives, local community members, media, contractors, company personnel, and more than 1,000 guests from neighboring communities.

Séguéla Mine

Jorge A. Ganoza, the President and CEO of Fortuna Silver Mines, expressed pride in Séguéla Mine, which is the company’s fifth mine and a flagship asset in their global portfolio. He highlighted the strategic commitment to West Africa and the anticipated value and benefits the mine will bring to all stakeholders.

Séguéla Mine began producing gold on May 24, 2023. By the end of August, the processing plant had produced a total of 21,716 ounces of gold in doré. The company has set an annual production guidance of 60,000 to 75,000 ounces of gold for Séguéla in 2023.
