Endeavour Mining suspends underground operations at Mana Mine
The suspension follows the partial subsidence of an access ramp at the depleted Wona open pit, restricting access to two underground portals
Multinational mining company Endeavour Mining plc has temporarily suspended underground operations at its Mana Mine in Burkina Faso.
This follows the partial subsidence of the access ramp leading to the depleted Wona open pit, which restricted access to the Dangouna and Aviera underground portals at the mine.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. Endeavour immediately evacuated all underground workers and notified the relevant authorities.
Before work can resume, the company will need to complete a detailed geotechnical assessment and determine the remediation work required to address the ramp subsidence.
“Endeavour remains on track to achieve its FY-2026 Group production and AISC guidance. Furthermore, the company is actively evaluating options to mitigate the impact of the incident on Mana’s production, including the restart and acceleration of mining activities in the Wona portal, which remains accessible, and other near-mine open pits,” said Endeavour.
The company said it would provide an update on the ongoing geotechnical analysis and details of the remediation plan alongside its third-quarter 2026 financial results on November 12, 2026.
