Dynacor completes first gold pour at Galam pilot plant in Senegal

The 50-tpd modular plant is expected to ramp up towards nameplate capacity and could pave the way for a larger 300-tpd commercial facility

Dynacor Group Inc. has completed its first gold pour at the Galam pilot plant in Senegal, making it the company’s first gold production on the African continent.

The first gold doré pour was achieved on September 30, 2026, using gold-silver cement produced through the plant’s Merrill-Crowe circuit.

According to Dynacor, plant run time and gold recovery have been steadily increasing since commissioning was completed. The company will now focus on ramping up production towards the plant’s nameplate capacity.

“We are delighted to highlight our first gold pour on the continent of Africa, marking our transition into a geographically diversified gold processor. Galam is now the first gold processing plant servicing permitted ASGM in Senegal and poised to deliver strong benefits to stakeholders as we showcase our platform in Africa,” said Daniel Misiano, President and CEO of Dynacor.

“We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the experienced team who drove the construction and commissioning of the Galam modular plant. Their tremendous efforts and commitment to excellence accelerated construction of the plant over a 10-month period and with no lost-time injuries,” he added.

Dynacor’s wholly owned Galam subsidiary operates a 50-tonne-per-day modular processing plant designed to serve as a test ground for the company’s expansion into Senegal and the broader African market.

The plant is located in Kédougou, at the centre of Senegal’s main artisanal and small-scale gold mining (ASGM) region. According to Dynacor, approximately 98% of the country’s ASGM sites and 13 of its 16 government-permitted ASGM corridors are located in the region.

The company sees the Galam pilot plant as a potential stepping stone towards a larger operation. If the pilot is successful, Dynacor plans to develop a 300-tpd commercial gold processing plant in Senegal.

The first gold pour therefore represents an important milestone in Dynacor’s strategy to establish a processing platform in Africa, while supporting gold production from permitted ASGM operations in the country.
