Atlantic Lithium issues MRE for feldspar at Ewoyaa Lithium Project

Atlantic Lithium Limited has announced a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) for feldspar at the Ewoyaa Lithium Project in Ghana.

The feldspar MRE is substantial, with 15.7 million tonnes (Mt) of feldspar at a grade of 40.2%. Approximately 87% of this resource falls under the measured and indicated categories, indicating the robustness and reliability of the estimate.

The Feldspar MRE is concentrated in specific deposits within the Ewoyaa Project, including Ewoyaa Main, Ewoyaa Northeast, Ewoyaa South-1, and South-2. Feldspar is a rock-forming mineral with uses in various industries such as glass, ceramics, paints, plastics, and building materials.

Value of the Ewoyaa Project

The incorporation of feldspar by-product credits in future feasibility studies is expected to lower operating costs and enhance the overall value of the Ewoyaa Project. The feldspar by-products include 31.1% quartz and 11.7% muscovite.

The maiden Feldspar MRE will be incorporated into the ongoing Feldspar Definitive Feasibility Study, with results expected to be reported in the first quarter of 2024. Atlantic Lithium aims to position Ewoyaa as a major domestic feldspar producer in Ghana, contributing significantly to the ceramics industry. The company sees potential in surpassing Ghana’s demand requirements for feldspar.

Metallurgical test work and ceramic application trials have been conducted, demonstrating the production of acceptable, industry-standard ware. The success of these trials, along with ongoing drilling activities, is expected to contribute to further growth in the Feldspar MRE.
