ARM ploughs back into communities

African Rainbow Minerals (ARM) recently reported significant investment into marginalised communities through its rural upliftment trusts.

The seven provincial trusts in KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape, Mpumalanga, Northern Cape, North West, Free State, and Limpopo made substantial strides through the installation of boreholes and water systems to provide clean, reliable water to households and traditional councils; the provision of tractors, farming implements, and agricultural equipment to support food security and community farming initiatives; and the renovation and construction of schools, early childhood development centres, libraries, community halls, laptops, furniture and technical facilities that offer safe, dignified spaces for learning and community engagement.

These trusts focus on empowering the poor, the marginalised, and communities whose voices are often unheard, including children, youth, women, and people living with disabilities.

Beyond the work of the Trusts, African Rainbow Minerals invested R116 million in 2025, contributing to a total of R880 million over the past six years, in Social and Labour Plans, Local Economic Development initiatives, and Corporate Social Investment programmes. These continued investments demonstrate ARM’s long-term commitment to improving infrastructure, education, health, and economic opportunities in communities neighbouring its operations.
